Free Smoking Brief Intervention and Smokefree Homes Training

This is an informal training session which will enable people working out and about in the community to pass on important information about smoking and its effects on health. You will be trained and given confidence in knowing the best way to raise the issue with people you come into contact with and the training will help you signpost people for the correct support around quitting.

The Smokefree homes training will help you understand the benefits a Smokefree home brings and will help you to  encourage and support people to make their homes Smokefree

The key themes covered are:

  • Smoking and Health
  • Understanding barriers to quitting
  • How to raise the issue
  • Benefits of going Smokefree at home and in the car.
  • The Smokefree pledge.

Who can attend the training? The training is suitable for anyone who works within the local community and who are in contact with the public, such as:

  • Volunteers
  • Local community  workers
  • People working with families

Cost of the Training The cost for the training is free and all materials for the course will be provided (including refreshments).
