Breast and Bowel Cancer Awareness Training

SOAR, in partnership with Breast Cancer Care and Bowel Cancer UK is supporting the delivery of a FREE two day training course for volunteers and workers interested in improving health within Sheffield. Early detection of breast and bowel cancer is vital in saving lives, but many people are unaware of what signs and symptoms to look for. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the information and confidence to deliver breast and bowel awareness to groups and individuals within Sheffield.

Topics include:

  • how to be breast/bowel aware,
  • unusual signs and symptoms,
  • breast/bowel cancer risk
  • NHS screening programmes.

The course will be held at: The Learning Zone, 320 Wordsworth Avenue, Parson Cross, Sheffield, S5 8NL on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th April 2013
