Volunteering Opportunity – Ending Gangs and Youth Violence Advisor

Sheffield Futures are looking for young people aged 14-19 who have either experienced or have an interest in the criminal justice system.

  • Do you want your voice heard and a chance to express your views?
  • Do you want to learn new skills and feel a sense of achievement?
  • Have you got ideas on how you would like to improve the services provided by the criminal justice system?
  • Can you help make adults have a better understanding of young people by sharing your personal knowledge & experience?

Do group members need any special skills? Full training will be given. You will undertake basic young advisor training that covers core skills as well as top up training from young people who have had first and experience of being involved in gangs.

What are the benefits of becoming a EGYV advisor? Becoming a EGYV advisor can greatly improve your C.V. and increase your chances of when applying for a job or to go into further education. These places look very fondly on volunteering, which is what being an EGYV advisor is therefore you won’t get paid but you will get a chance to have your voices heard and gain skills that will help you both now and in the future

Complete an EGYV Expression of Interest Form and return it by Friday 1st March 2013, 12:00pm. (Travel expenses will be reimbursed)
