History Group help plant a Medlar Tree

Despite the cold weather, there was a great turn out for the tree planting at Mortomley Park earlier this week. High Green in Bloom arranged to get funding from the Sheffield Abundance Project to plant 10 different fruit and nut trees including apples, pears, plums, medlars, hazels and more. Abundance and the Sheffield City Council Community Forestry Team came along to assist the community in planting the trees. Children from High Green Primary and members of the High Green History Group came along to help with the planting too. The new trees have been planted in the Rose Garden area of the Park. High Green in Bloom have a stewardship agreement with Sheffield City Council to look after this part of the park.
