Older Peoples’ Conference

The Northern Community Assembly will soon be holding a conference for residents who are aged 50+. The event will be on Tuesday the 23rd of October from 10.30am to 2pm at Newton Memorial Hall, Cowley Lane, Chapeltown. A lunch will be provided at the event.

The event will provide an opportunity for older people to find out more about the services and activities happening for them in the area. The event is focused on the East and West Ecclesfield Ward areas which cover High Green, Chapeltown, Burncross, Grenoside and Ecclesfield.

The event will be an opportunity to try out some activities available locally such as Tai Chi and Boccia as well as an opportunity to meet the people who provide services such as the Police, health workers etc.

There will also be discussions about what it is like to be an older person living in the area and lunch will be provided. Teas and coffees will be available throughout the event and local councillors will be there to talk to. The event is your opportunity to let local councillors know about your experience of being an older person in Northern Sheffield.

Please let us know if you would like to attend this event by Friday the 5th of October by calling (0114) 2037153 or emailing communityassemblynorthern@sheffield.gov.uk. We need to know numbers for the event as a lunch will be provided. Also, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Please also contact the team if you need assistance in attending the event and we can make transport arrangements for you.
