Have your say on mental health services

Sheffield Futures have asked us to promote their mental health services survey with young people in the Northern area. Sheffield is putting together a new plan to try to improve the mental health & emotional well-being of children and young people in the city. You can put your views across and have a say on this new plan by filling in a quick and easy online survey.

What is mental health and emotional well-being? Mental health and emotional well-being is usually described as: ‘Being able to live a full life and to deal with the ups and downs that life brings.’ For children and young people it is especially about being able to learn, to enjoy friendships, to meet challenges, to develop talents and skills. Sometimes children and young people will have very difficult mental health problems and we will need to make sure that we give them special help.

The survey is designed to find out if you agree or disagree with each of the 6 important things (priorities) that have already been put together, if you have any comments or changes you would like to make to each priority or if you think that something else needs to be a priority that isn’t said.

Lots of organisations across the city are involved with the plan, including the Sheffield YMCA, Sheffield Futures, NHS Sheffield and Sheffield City Council. The survey will run until 20th May 2011, so you have plenty of time to have your say on this important issue.
