Sheffield Out of School Network – Play Training Available

Sheffield Out of School Network has got funding to deliver play and playwork training at venues in local communities before 31st July this year. The courses they can offer are listed below. The content and method of delivery can be tailored to meet local requirements. They can also design other play training to meet specific needs. Please click on the links below for more information:

Courses are available to anyone that is interested in good quality play experiences for children, for example in clubs, playschemes, schools, uniformed organisations, play rangers and the home and family environment. Participants may include parents, grandparents, carers, management committee members, volunteers and paid staff.

The requirements of the funding are that courses run over 10 hours or more and that learners should be aged 19 years and over. There is expected to be a minimal charge, dependent on the length of the course (based on £1 per hour + £6 admin per person), although courses are free to anyone on benefits.

They are currently planning their delivery of these courses. If you are interested in working with them to organise a course or courses in your area please get in touch at or  0114 249 4941. Please contact them as early as possible as these funded courses have to be delivered by 31st July.
