Home Office Funding Available

The Home Office is inviting applications from the voluntary and community sector for the Communities Against Gangs, Guns and Knives fund. This will provide successful applicants with up to £10,000 per year for 2 years.

The aims of the fund are to:

  • reduce knife crime among young people
  • reduce gun crime and gang-related violence among young people
  • prevent at risk young people from becoming involved in gun, knife and gang related crime
  • break the cycle of violent re-offending among young people

Funding will be given to projects that engage with young people involved with, or at risk of being involved with, gun/knife crime or gang activity. This extends to working with families and girls/young women. The broad categories of work are mentoring, outreach and support.

The closing date for applications is 15 April 2011. Please note, as well as the usual constitutional documents you will need to supply at least one letter of endorsement from a public sector partner. For more information and an application form please visit –
