5,000 New Trees for Sheffield

New Tree

Over the next few months Sheffield City Council will be planting 5,000 trees as part of the commitment to protect and improve Sheffield’s green environment. This is probably the greatest single amount ever allocated specifically for tree planting in the city and represents a major boost to Sheffield’s environment.

You have the opportunity to have your say on where some of the 5,000 trees ordered by the Council should be planted over the next few months. You can make your online nomination here.  Alternatively, you can post your suggestions to ‘Parks & Countryside, Meersbrook Park, Brook Road, Sheffield, S8 9FL’ or call the Parks Service with your suggestion on 0114 250 0500.

The planting will be undertaken in partnership with schools, the local voluntary and commercial sectors and community groups.  As many people as possible will be involved to help deliver and take ownership of this project, getting involved at every stage of its implementation from planning through to actual delivery on the ground.  If you belong to an organisation that may wish to become involved in the planting, you can let the council know when you make your suggestion.
