Community Snow Wardens for Sheffield

Snow problems in Sheffield

John Charlton, the director of Street Force came to our public meeting last night. John regularly attends our meetings as he is our ‘Lead Director’. This means he guides the work of the Northern Community Assembly at a strategic level.

John was at last night’s meeting to tell the community about the Community Snow Warden Scheme. This is a new scheme set up by Streetforce to help tackle the snow problems the city experiences at this time of year.

John explained that the Snow Wardens are volunteers from the community who are happy to clear some of the snow in their local area from pathways and minor roads to improve access for the rest of the community.

Streetforce supply snow wardens with grit, shovels, gloves and high visibility vests. If you are interested in becoming a snow warden please contact Streetforce on (0114) 2734567 or email
